  The people who worked at the Marina West Motel were all quite friendly but I found a lack of attentiveness to our questions and concerns. I understand they are trying to keep the vibe light and chill but continuing to talk on the phone to someone they obviously frequent talking to while a costumer staying in your motel is standing at the desk with a question is unprofessional. The room was quaint and what you'd expect from a typical average motel but our toilet wouldn't flush and the light on the right side of the bed wouldn't work properly. It took the better part of the day to get the repair guy to come in and take a look at the toilet and 3 different trips to actually fix it. Nonetheless it was overall a pleasant stay for the price we paid.

  The place is very tired. Only luke warm water both days. Noise from above, outside and from the refrigerator. Intermittent wifi. The room was only partially serviced on the second day, bin not emptied coffee not replenished.
  For balance, the room was clean, the location is good and the rate included free continental breakfast though bizarrely you had to pay for beverages.
  This was the worst place we stayed on our Canada trip but also the cheapest. Unless you are on a tight budget choose somewhere else in Tofino.

  Didn't stay at the Motel. But took the Hot Spring boat tour. We saw grey whales, dolphins, porpoises, sea lions, many birds. Our boat captain was awesome!

  The location is good, the breakfast is good, the facilities are older. The rooms are clean but some of the furnishings are dated. The motel was fully booked and parking was full around our building.

  My wife and I decided to stay here because the front office looked nice so we figured the rooms would be the same. The girl who worked the front counter seemed like an absolute space cadet and took about 20 minutes to complete my check-in. I found and killed several spiders in our room. No wonder they were there, it hand't been cleaned in about 2 months, guessing by the amount of dust I found. When I went to check out and I was asked about my stay, I said it was terrible. She said "yeah, there's a lot of work they need to do, they need to take care of the mold". The girl couldn't even find my check-in slip so I could check-out. She said we wouldn't get billed for the room. A week later, I find on my credit card I was billed the full amount!
  My wife and I generally stay in budget motels so we can spend more on dining out, this was the first motel that was actually disgusting. I would encourage any traveller to refrain from staying here, go camping at the Surf Junction Campground in Ucluelet instead, you'll even get tents and sleeping bags for the night for 1/2 the price!
